Strawn's story begins in 1880, when the Texas and Pacific Railway brought new life to the area. Originally known as North Fork for its location along Palo Pinto Creek, the town was founded on land belonging to early ranchers Stephen Bethel Strawn and James N. Stuart, who built the area's first house in 1875. Russell's Pocket and Davidsonville merged to create the thriving community that exists today, now home to over 540 residents.
