Thomson earned its nickname "The Camellia City of the South" for good reason, with thousands of beautiful camellia plants adorning the streets. Founded in 1837 as a depot on the Georgia Railroad, Thomson has grown into the vibrant county seat of McDuffie County. The city was renamed in 1853 to honor railroad official John Edgar Thomson and incorporated as a town in 1854, eventually becoming a city in 1870. Today, Thomson remains a proud part of the Augusta, Richmond County Metropolitan Statistical Area. Wear your Thomson, Georgia roots with pride. Hometown Supply Co's locally-inspired apparel connects you to McDuffie County's rich heritage and community spirit.
